Total Recorder Developer Edition 7.1

Total Recorder Developer Edition is an edition of Total Recorder that allows you to integrate the capabilities of Total Recorder (sound recording, editing, processing, and playing) with other applications. With the Video Add-on, you can record from any combination of video and audio sources, including output of another audio application in Software mode.

Total Recorder Developer Edition provides COM interfaces so that all of its functions can be invoked programmatically from within another program (e.g. C/C++, VB, or Java programs) or from within a script (e.g. VB Script, JavaScript, or Perl) rather than interactively. The program package contains additional documentation and sample code (C++, Visual Basic and JavaScript) for writing applications that can control Total Recorder through COM facilities.

You can also enhance Total Recorder functionality with some additional add-ons that can be used to improve the quality of your cassette or vinyl records and voice dictating tremendously, accomplish automatic gain control, apply an equalizer, send your recordings to iTunes/iPod and others.

A very brief list of new features in Version 7.1 Developer Edition includes:

• Windows Vista 64-bit is fully supported with the introduction of the 64-bit version of Total Recorder's kernel mode driver.
• Favorites are now supported by Total Recorder. Favorites, similar to the favorites you use in a browser, provide a faster and more convenient way to open a file, playlist or URL. You can organize your Favorites list, use predefined sample links, and export and import Favorites.
• Adjustable playback speeds. This feature lets you play an audio file or a video file at a slower or faster speed than normal while optionally preserving the original tone.
• Support for tags is extended: Total Recorder can read ID3v2 tags for all versions (version 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4) and ability to add an artwork to the tag within the file is available now.
• Other minor enhancements.
