The free reader edition is best suited for roaming Information Workers who don't update information on their SharePoint servers. The threaded synchronization available allows the user to quickly download the latest information available from their MOSS or WSS 3.0 Servers. [There are limitations on the number of threads in the Reader Edition.]

Features are available to allow the users to drill down into SharePoint lists, document libraries and other site content with ease. When offline or online, documents can be opened for viewing purposes. [There are limitations on the number of sites and lists in the Reader Edition.]

The Reader edition is also ideally suited to those users who want to build consolidated views on limited sets of SharePoint information, these consolidated views can exported to excel, PDF, html and other formats. The consolidated views can be created in grid or pivot form.

The reader edition will allow you to explore the full set of features that will be available in the basic edition of SP Accelerator 2009. * Limitations apply to the number of threads, sites and lists in the free reader edition that can be used.

As new editions are released of SP Accelerator 2009, a new build of the Free Reader Edition will be released to allow the user to demo some of the features in the new editions.

With support for hosted SharePoint as key design criteria, reading SharePoint information online or offline will be a greatly improved experience using SP Accelerator 2009.

Microsoft Office Server is not required to use the client, MOSS 2007 or WSS 3.0 is required for offline Synchronization.

64bit and 32bit versions of the reader edition will be available and will run on Windows XP or Windows Vista machines installed with .net framework 3.5 and above.
