Powerdown minimises energy use and maximises cost savings by controlling the power state of individual computers. Idle computers are turned off or placed in a low power state and can be automatically restarted for maintenance or operational purposes. Powerdown can reduce IT energy consumption by up to 40% resulting in savings of up to ￡30 per PC per year
